It just can't compare to our local varieties. Pura Vida is OK, but not nearly as good as I had hoped it would be. I have not had much luck with coffees I have ordered on line. I live in the Seattle area and there is just too much really good locally roasted cofee available here. It is drinkable and a lot better than supermarket brands.
Not only is it a first-rate product, but purchase of it benefits needy children. Pura Vida French Roast coffee is strong, delicious, and not at all bitter. As a true coffee lover, I highly recommend it.
When it comes to coffee (as with pizza). you simply must consult your own palate. Not even close. Pura Vida does not have the deep, full bodied smoothness of Sbucks whole bean French Roast. We ordered the Pura Vida French Roast on the recommendation of other buyers here at Amazon, thinking we could perhaps avoid the slight inconvenience of having to run to the nearest Starbucks shop to pick up coffee every couple of weeks. People have different tastes, I guess, and in this case my wife and I were disappointed. But we prefer the taste of the Starbucks by a rather wide margin. Too bad for us, but some people evidently like it.
I love the coffee and it tastes great. I will be purchasing again. I have never bought whole bean coffee or fair trade, organic coffee before so my limited experience may not be worth much. The price is doable for my budget.
I love French roast but had been unsuccessful finding one that delivered the body and smoothness that I love. This one's a winner -- and their charitable policy makes me feel great, too.
